Aging Up >

Updated: Sep 27, 2018

Lately, I’ve spent a lot of time around some pretty fabulous women over the age of 60.  My takeaway?  Instead of focusing all of our energy on trying to keep the aging process at bay, we can focus on growing more fully into who we’re meant to be. It seems the real secret to maintaining an active and youthful life is to keep ourselves open and flexible in body, mind and spirit. Find the things that challenge you. Don’t run away from the messy feelings that come up because you may think: “I don’t need to experience anything other than what I know.” “Why should I try to put myself in someone else's shoes?  I deserve to be comfortable all the time.”

It doesn’t work that way.  At least not based on what some wise women have taught me. Stop making excuses as to why you can’t be a kinder, stronger, more open and loving version of yourself.  The moment we stop being open and perhaps, uncomfortable to different experiences is when we begin to grow old and stagnant. We become unmotivated and unmovable. That is the road to aging. Maintaining a child-like curiosity is an important part of any anti-aging program.

Take a look at what and who is around you. Make wise choices for what you allow into your life. Let’s see what makes us feel alive today.....
